Commemorative Coins 900th Anniversary Leeds Castle (2018/19)

Started as a university project, but stemmed into a new interest!

Leeds Castle was having its 900th anniversary, so for my Uni project I decided to make some commemorative coins for the occasion featuring a person of relevance from each century starting at the 11/12th and finishing at the 20th century. The coins and designs were laser cut onto acrylic in two halves, Heads and Tails, then silicone cast so I was able to fill the mould with wax to be able to cast them as a solid coin out of Bronze, This was a really fun project and got me interested into the minting process of coins and more interested into the jewellery and silversmithing side of things as I was working in the jewellers workshop and learned some of the techniques.
