Standby Props Trainee - Murder before Evensong

I joined onto production a week or two into filming as a trainee, it was a local production for me which is always a bonus. Some of the first days were just making myself familiar with the Standby Van, the scripts and the dynamic of my team (i.e what they expect from me, how each of them work individually and how they work as a team). There was a surprise waiting for us in the coming weeks that had happened before I had joined on but wasn’t quite realised until we were doing a Key art shoot, one of the hero character items had been left at a prior location along with some other bits, luckily it was noticed for this photoshoot rather than for an actual scene, we contacted the dressing team and rectified the issue for the following day. Apart from that little hiccup the rest of shooting went smoothly and it was a great experience to be a part of I even got to manage the floor for for a few scenes to do any resets for props. From that job I learned so much and cant thank my mentor Gary Leech enough for teaching me the ropes and giving me invaluable experience but also having a laugh throughout.
